🎬 Reve releases "Live Layers"

Reve just added “Live Layers,” a way to drop your own text and graphics onto any image and adjust them like editable layers.
Instead of baking words into the pixels, each element lives in its own region you can move, resize, and restyle with a prompt.

Because each layer is its own addressable element, the model can re-render a headline, logo, or graphic without disturbing the rest of the frame.
That makes it a fast way to build posters, packaging, thumbnails, and social graphics where the text has to land exactly right, then swap the copy later without regenerating the whole thing.

🆓 Paper makes its “Shaders” fully open source

Paper just made “Paper Shaders” completely open source and free for any use, including commercial projects and even competing design tools.
Paper Shaders is a zero-dependency library of 30+ animated canvas effects (mesh gradients, halftones, grain, and more) you can drop straight into a website or app, or design visually inside Paper.

The team scrapped the custom license that used to stop rival design tools from wrapping the shaders, saying it was too restrictive and holding people back.
Now you can do whatever you like with them, build a plugin, template, tool, or library, ship a Figma plugin, and even resell what you make. It's already code, so you can install it from npm (React or vanilla JavaScript) or grab it inside Paper. The team says more shaders are on the way.

🤖 Base44 launches "Base 1," its own AI model

Base44 just launched “Base 1,” its own AI model trained on real builder data, making it the first app-creation platform to run its own model in production.
The company (acquired by website-builder Wix in 2025) built and trained Base 1 on tens of millions of real interactions from its own platform.
Note: Base 1 is live now for every builder. The platform automatically picks the best model for whatever you're making, so nothing about your existing workflow changes.
In a blog post, Base44’s founder and CEO outlined the company’s approach, positioning it as a contrast to rivals like Lovable, Bolt, and Replit, which build on general-purpose models from OpenAI and Anthropic. By training on how people build inside its own platform, Base44 can tune Base 1 for that specific work rather than relying on a shared, third-party model.
The company says this is the first of many steps, with bigger, faster models on the way.
