Good morning. Photoshop's Remove Tool just got a massive upgrade in beta, automatically scanning your photos for clutter like poles, vehicles, and vegetation (and wiping it all out with a few clicks).

Also: Figma's macOS desktop app now lets you grab colors from anywhere on your screen (any app, any browser tab) with the eyedropper.

In partnership with

In today's issue:

  • Photoshop releases General Distractions Removal in beta (AI detects and automatically removes background clutter).

  • Figma adds system-wide color sampling to its macOS desktop app.

  • Notion ships version 3.4 with dashboards, presentation mode, AI image generation, tabs, and a rebuilt sidebar.

TOP STORY
🪄 Photoshop releases "General Distractions"

The new “General Distractions Removal” (Beta) feature in Photoshop automatically scans your image, highlights common clutter (e.g., poles, vehicles, vegetation, and more), color-codes each type, and lets you toggle it on or off before removing anything.

Note: General Distractions Removal is currently available in Photoshop desktop beta only.

Here's the workflow:

  • Select the Remove Tool.

  • Click “Find Distractions” in the Options bar, and Photoshop maps out every distraction on your canvas with color-coded overlays.

  • Check or uncheck categories (e.g., want to keep the trees but lose the utility pole?)

  • Refine selections with a brush, and hit Apply.

  • The clutter disappears, and your subject stays.

.

You can also rate individual results right inside the tool to help Adobe tune the model over time.

WEB DESIGN
🎨 Figma adds "Universal Color Picker"

Figma's macOS desktop app now lets you grab colors from anywhere on your screen, not just inside the canvas.

Open the color picker, tap the eyedropper, and sample the exact hex from any browser tab, app, or image (no screenshotting, no switching tools).

Note: Screen-wide color sampling is currently available in the Figma macOS desktop app only.

It's a small update with a big quality-of-life payoff, especially if you're frequently pulling colors from references or client assets.

🗂️ Notion ships "Version 3.4"

Notion just dropped version 3.4 (Part 1), and it's a big one. There's too much to cover in a single email (Notion's words, not ours).

This first drop includes a new dashboard view, a completely redesigned sidebar, presentation mode, a tabs block, built-in image generation, and more.

Presentation Mode

Here's what's new in 3.4:

  • Dashboard view: Pull together charts, KPIs, and metrics into a single beautiful view. Describe the dashboard you want to your Notion Agent, and it'll build it for you.

  • Presentation mode: Turn any Notion doc into a slideshow without rebuilding it in another app.

  • AI image generation: Generate images, diagrams, charts, and slides directly inside your pages. Ask your Agent, and it creates visuals in context.

  • Tabs block: Organize content into clean, clickable tabs inside a page, without a maze of sub-pages.

  • Redesigned sidebar: Reorganized into four tabs: pages, agent chats, meetings, and notifications. Opt in to try it.

  • Archive pages: Mark old pages as archived instead of deleting them. They stay accessible but stay out of your search results.

  • And more: H4 headers, voice dictation, Salesforce + Box connectors, n8n MCP integration.

Note: Dashboard view requires a Business or Enterprise plan. Presentation mode is in beta for Plus, Business, and Enterprise users.
