TOP STORY
🎨 Midjourney releases "V8 Alpha"

This week, Midjourney began community testing of "V8 Alpha", an early version of its next-generation image model, which is now live.
What's new in V8 (Alpha):
Prompt adherence: Better at following detailed, specific instructions while still producing surprising results when prompts are open-ended.
5x faster generation: Standard image jobs now complete significantly faster than V7, with the web interface updated to match.
Native 2K resolution: A new --hd mode renders natively at 2K; --q 4 adds extra coherence for complex scenes.
Improved text rendering: In-image text now works more reliably, especially when the text is wrapped in "quotes" in your prompt.
Best-ever personalization, srefs, and moodboards: V8 carries forward V7 personalization profiles (no rebuild needed), and significantly improves how it reads aesthetic direction from style references and moodboards.
New UI features: A conversation mode for back-and-forth prompting, a Grid Mode for focusing on one image set, and sidebar-based settings so controls don't block your view.

🔬 Framer's "$10K Undercover" experiment

This week, Framer creator Nandi Muzsik (founder of Framer University) and winner of Best Framer Creator 2024, revealed he spent 60 days operating anonymously as a fake persona called "Orin Fitzgerald" to prove that success on Framer doesn't require an existing audience.
Starting with zero followers, no portfolio, and no reputation, he made $11,579 in 60 days building Framer templates and taking on client work.
What he built under the fake identity:
A $27K template: The "Jet" template he built as Orin has since generated over $20K in sales and $7K in affiliate commissions.
$8,250 in client work: Three paying clients closed during the 60-day window, with all calls done camera-off and with a voice changer.
3,000+ followers: Built from zero using viral tweets, with no connection to his real identity.
5 portfolio pieces: Built from scratch to demonstrate skills without a reputation to lean on.
The full story, including the client who cancelled a $4K project mid-build, the moment Framer's founder found out, and the day-by-day breakdown, will be revealed live on March 25th at 2 PM EDT. The event is free.

✨ Gamma launches "Gamma Imagine"

This week, Gamma announced its biggest update ever, introducing "Gamma Imagine" alongside rebuilt templates, smart charts, and direct integrations with Claude and ChatGPT.

Gamma Imagine: A new AI image generation tool built directly into Gamma. Describe a logo, infographic, diagram, or poster, and Gamma generates multiple style options (all matched to your brand colors, fonts, and visual identity) without leaving the app.
AI-Native Templates: Templates now work differently. Instead of filling in a blank structure, you take any existing presentation and update it for a new audience or purpose with a single prompt, brand, and style intact.
Gamma Connectors: Gamma now integrates directly into Claude, ChatGPT, and other work tools. Turn a conversation or an email thread into a finished deck without switching tabs.
Smart Charts: New chart types for telling clearer data stories, designed to pair with the updated template system.
AI Infographics and Multipage Gammas: New formats for more complex visual communication beyond traditional slide decks.
All updates are available now. Gamma Imagine is free for 30 days.

🎨 Doodles launches "Doodles AI"

Doodles, the entertainment company that started as a collection of 10,000 hand-drawn NFT characters in 2021, just launched Doodles AI, a creative image tool powered by Prism 1.0 (a proprietary model trained exclusively on Doodles-owned artwork with no third-party or scraped data).
It's an early example of what IP-rich companies are starting to do: turn their owned creative libraries into the training foundation for their own models.
With brand partnerships spanning McDonald's, Adidas, and Pharrell Williams, plus a TIFF-premiered animated special, Doodles has the catalog to back it, and claims the model generates outputs 84,000x faster than traditional illustration workflows.

At launch:
Image reimagining: Upload any photo or image and Prism 1.0 reinterprets it through the visual language of the Doodles universe, producing studio-grade output stylistically aligned with the original IP.
On the roadmap: Physical objects from generations, video with sound and dialogue, real-time AR, and gaming are all planned as the product evolves.
Long-term ambition: Doodles has stated its goal is to produce the first feature-length animated film created entirely through its own AI systems.
Doodles AI is available now in beta. New features and model upgrades will roll out throughout 2026.
