This isn't just ChatGPT's cooler cousin. It's the AI that's quietly revolutionizing how smart people work – writing entire business plans, planning marketing campaigns, and basically becoming the intern you never have to pay.

🎬 Adobe acquires “Topaz Labs”

Adobe is acquiring “Topaz Labs,” the AI company behind professional image and video enhancement tools, and folding it into its creative business.

Topaz is best known for products like Topaz Photo, Topaz Video, and Gigapixel, which sharpen, denoise, restore, and upscale photo and videos.

Note: This is a definitive agreement to acquire, announced June 25, not a completed deal yet. Adobe says it plans to expand Topaz's models across Firefly, Firefly Services, and Creative Cloud apps like Photoshop, Lightroom, and Premiere Pro.

What you actually get out of this:

  • On-device AI: Topaz brings "Neurostream" tech that runs large, complex AI models locally on your own device, which means faster, cheaper, more responsive editing.

  • Pro enhancement models: Upscaling, sharpening, stabilization, frame interpolation, noise removal, and footage restoration, the stuff that rescues old or low-quality footage.

  • Already in motion: Adobe and Topaz first partnered at Adobe Max in October 2025, when some Topaz upscale and denoise models landed inside Photoshop, and Gigapixel came to cloud Lightroom in February.

PRODUCTIVITY
🔖 Anthropic releases "Claude Tag"

Anthropic released “Claude Tag,” a way to drop Claude into your Slack channels as a shared AI teammate.

Grant it access to specific channels and tools, then anyone can tag @Claude with a request and hand off work to it.

Note: Claude Tag is in beta for Claude Enterprise and Team customers only, and runs on Claude Opus 4.8. It replaces the existing Claude in Slack app, which retires August 3, 2026, admins have a 30-day window to opt in.

The thing that makes it different from every other Slack AI bot:

  • It's multiplayer: There's one Claude per channel that everyone can see and steer, not a separate bot per person. One teammate kicks off a task, another picks it up where they left off.

  • It learns your context: Claude remembers relevant info from the channels it's in, so you don't re-explain things every time (it won't pull from private channels).

  • It can be proactive: With "ambient" mode on, Claude jumps in on its own to flag relevant info and follow up on threads that have gone quiet.

  • It works async: Set it a task, go do other things, and it posts back in a thread when it's done.

DESIGN
🎨 Figma releases "Weave” in Canvas

Figma brought “Weave tools” directly into Figma Design, so you can run AI image tasks without leaving your file. Select an image, pick a tool, set your inputs, and generate, no jumping between apps.

You can now choose from 20+ Figma Weave tools.

Note: Weave tools are rolling out gradually to Professional plans and above with Full seats, starting June 24. They're free during the open beta and will consume Figma AI credits at general availability.

Weave is Figma's node-based canvas (acquired as Weavy) where you build generative AI workflows by connecting models, transforming assets, and comparing outputs.

What's actually new here:

  • 20+ pre-built tools: Style transfer, background swaps, logo insertion, aspect-ratio changes, product shoots, and more, each one a packaged Weave workflow with a simple UI.

  • Publish and remix: You can build your own Weave workflows and publish them to the Figma Community as templates for others to use or remix.

  • Part of a bigger Config drop: This launched alongside Figma Motion, shaders, code layers, and generative plugins at Config 2026.
